In the second practice session in China, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg continued to dominate the track, finishing in P1 and P3, respectively. However, Ferrari had a great session, taking into account the recent changes in management this week. It seems that Ferrari's new team principal, Marco Mattiacci, is settling into his new position at the F1 team quite well. Luca Di Montezemolo, the Chairman of Ferrari, has recently been quoted saying that he is "sure that Marco is right for the job." With Alonso finishing practice in P2, and his team mate, Kimi Raikkonen, finishing in P7 due to technical problems, things are looking up for Ferrari in China. However, the teams are wary of incoming rain for tomorrow's qualifying session, which will severely impact the strategy of the teams for Sunday's race. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso has said that if it rains for tomorrow morning's practice and the afternoon's qualifying, Ferrari will have to rely on pure "guesswork" for race strategy on Sunday, something that no team ever wants to do. Many other teams are in the same boat as Ferrari, as rain during the day before a race won't provide helpful data for the teams to use to plan their race. The teams are still getting used to their cars this season, so they can not rely
As a Ferrari man myself, I look forward to seeing Ferrari's first race under their new team principal, and I am happy to see that things are finally looking up after a miserable start to the season. Forza Ferrari!
